Kerstkaartjes

Ik heb dit jaar eindelijk weer eens een paar kerstkaarten zelf gemaakt. Door een kleine dame in huis is het de afgelopen jaren niet gelukt. Ook dit jaar heb ik nog niet alle kaarten zelf gemaakt, maar in ieder geval de helft. Volgend jaar hopelijk weer alles.

Finally, this year I've send a few handmade Christmas cards. Because of a little lady here at home the last years I wasn't able to make the cards. This year not all send cards were handmade, but at least the half of the all the cards. Hopefully next year all the cards are handmade.

Ik heb voor deze kaarten scrappapier van Maja Design gebruikt, A Gift For You. In deze lijn zat 1 vel, waar 4 schitterende hoeken aanzaten, het papier met de naam On Christmas Morning. Vandaar dat ik 4 verschillende kerstkaarten heb gemaakt. 

For this Christmas cards I've used Maja Design scrappaper, A Gift For You. In this line there was one paper which had four beautiful corners, the paper called On Christmas Morning. That's why I've made four different cards.

Omdat ik de enveloppen bij gekochte kerstkaarten altijd zo leuk vind, ga ik mijn standaard envelopjes ook een beetje opleuken. Zo krijg je toch ook een persoonlijk envelopje, in plaats van een standaard envelopje.

I love the envelops that comes with bought Christmas Cards, but if you have handmade cards you can only buy 1 kind of envelops (as far as I know), especially when you make square cards. So I also stamp the envelops. Then you have a little personal touch to the envelop.

Card in a box

Pfff, wat zijn november en december toch drukke maanden. Alleen maar bezig met cadeau's zoeken  voor en voorbereiden op het Sinterklaasfeest. Als je dan ook nog te maken krijgt met ziekte dan is het helemaal druk. Dat er dan toch nog een kaartje gemaakt kan worden is alleen maar een wonder.

Dit kaartje heb ik gemaakt voor een wedstrijd op de club Cards and More.

Pff, november and december are months in which I'm very busy. Just with buying stuff and prepare for an evening called Sinterklaas. In Holland it's something to compare with Santa Claus. Only Sinterklaas comes from Spain and has got help from Zwarte Piet.

When the whole family gets the flu then these months are even more busy. So, that I've had the time to make a card is a miracle. This card I;ve mad for a club called Cards and More.

Kerst

Dit keer een kerstkaartje. Dit kaartje heb ik gemaakt voor een Swap op clubs. Een swap is erg leuk om te doen. Bij een Swap meld je je aan en na de sluitingsdatum van aanmelding ontvang je een lijst met adressen. Vervolgens maak je een kaartje in het aangegeven thema (in dit geval dus kerst) en stuurt die op naar diegene die onder jou staat op deze adressenlijst. 

Maar niet alleen stuur je het kaartje, maar ook alle materialen die je hebt gebruikt om het kaartje te maken. Dus het papier, het scrappapier, een stempelafdrukje, de stansjes, de lintjes, de geponste figuurtjes etc etc etc. Vervolgens maakt diegene die het pakketje ontvangt met die materialen een hele andere kaart. Zo krijg je dus 2 hele verschillende kaartjes met precies dezelfde materialen.

This time I've place a Christmas Card. I've made this card for a Swap on Clubs.nl. A swap is very much fun to do. To participate in a Swap you have to register yourself. After the closing date of the registration you will receive a list with adresses. You will then send a card made with the given theme (in this case the theme was Christmas) to the person below you on that list. With the card you will send all the materials you've made the card with. So you will send the carstock, the design paper, an stamped image, punched and cutted figures, the ribbons, and so on, and so on.

When this person receives the package she (or he) will make a card with these materials. But this card may not be the same as the one she (or he) has received. So you will get two different cards, made with exactly the same materials.

Nog een herfstkaartje

Hmm, ik zou de traktaties van onze dochter nog laten zien. Deze vond ik echter te leuk om nog even te laten wachten.

Hmm, in my last post I said I would show my daughters birthday treats. But I thought this card was too nice not to show it yet.

Het patroontje komt van clubs (de kaartenkast). Het is heel simpel. Je pakt een vel karton/cardstock van 20 x 20 cm, maakt een paar rillijnen en vouwt hem dan zo in elkaar dat ie uiteindelijk 10 x 10 cm wordt. 

This template is from clubs ("de kaartenkast") and is very simple to make. You need a piece of cardstock 20 x 20 cm, make a few scoring lines and fold it together. The folded card is just 10 x 10 cm.

Halloween...

Inmiddels is het oktober en gaan we richting All Hallows Eve oftewel Halloween. In Nederland wordt er in de katholieke kerk geloof ik nog wel aan Allerheiligen (waar Halloween voor staat) gedaan (correct me if I'm wrong), maar echt Halloween zoals in Amerika wordt hier niet gevierd.
Niettemin vind ik het heel erg leuk om met dit thema bezig te zijn. Op de club van Tiets werd ook gevraagd naar kaartjes met dit thema, dus mocht ik weer bezig. En dit is het resultaat.

It's the month October already and All Hallows Eve also known as Halloween is coming soon. Here in Holland the Katholic church knows All Hallows, but Halloween as celebrated in America we don't that around here. But I just love that theme. For a club from Tiets I've made this card.

De grote spin heb ik gekocht bij de Xenos. Deze heb ik opgeplakt met een lijmpistool. Normaal gesproken vind ik een nadeel aan een lijmpistool dat deze van die draden geeft, maar voor een kaart als dit is dat een heel groot voordel. Die draden heb ik nu gebruikt als spinnenweb.

The big spider in the corner of the card I've bought in a store called Xenos. I've used a glue gun to paste it onto the card. Normally I think of one single disadvantage that it leaves threads of glue. But for a theme like Halloween it's a great advantage. Now those threads look like spiderweb.

Het spookje heb ik gemaakt met behulp van die goedkope plastic tasjes die altijd kapot gaan als er iets inzit. Ik vond namelijk gewoon wit papier te fel voor een spookje. Nu heb ik het spookje twee keer uit een stukje plastic zak gesneden, op elkaar geplakt en nu lijkt het spookje gewoon doorzichtig.

You know those cheap plastic bags, which always break when you put something in it?? The plastic bags I've used for the little ghost. I thought plain white paper was to bright for a ghost. So I've cut the ghost twice out of such a plastic bag, glued them together en now the ghost looks transparent.

Ik heb ervoor gezorgd dat ik 2 stempels (zo goed als mogelijk) hetzelfde heb ingekleurd en op dezelfde plek aan de buitenkant als aan de binnenkant heb geplakt. Dit heb ik gedaan, omdat de voorkant niet helemaal vierkant is. Als de kaart nu dichtzit (zie bovenaan), dan zie je de binnenkant niet.

I've colored 2 stamps (almost) exactly the same en paste them on the same place inside and outside the card. The outside of the card isn't square, so when the card is closed you don't see the inside on the outside (get it??).

De tekst aan de binnenkant heb ik gevonden via google en in Word opgeschreven. Ik heb ooit eens het lettertype Darkwood gedownload en die vind ik echt geweldig voor een Halloween kaartje. De kleur aangepast aan het kaartje, printen op carstock en je hebt een prachtig tekstje op je kaart.

The text on the inside of the card I've found with Google en wrote it in Word. A long time ago I've downloaden the font "Darkwood" and I just love this font for Halloween. I've adjusted the color of the text to the card, printed it on cardstock and there you have it, one nice text for your card.

Onze oudste dochter wordt over 2 weken alweer 9 jaar. Waar blijft de tijd?? Ze wordt al zo groot!! Bij een verjaardag hoort natuurlijk een feestje. En bij een feestje horen uitnodigingskaartjes. Deze kaartjes heb ik dit jaar voor haar gefabriceerd. Kleine kaartjes met achterop de uitnodiging.

Our eldest daughter is turning 9 in two weeks. 9!!! She's grows and grows!!

When it's your birthday, you have to throw a party. And to get people to the party you have to have invitations. These are the invitations I've made for her this year. Small cards with on the back all the information for her party.

Geboortekaartje

In mijn vorige berichtje had ik het erover dat het volgende projectje de traktaties van onze oudste dochter zouden worden. Ehm, tja, dat projectje moet nog heel even wachten. Die komt nog wel, maar eerst kwam deze tussendoor.

Een nicht van mij is 2 weken geleden bevallen van een gezonde zoon, genaamd David. Tja, daar moest natuurlijk eerst even een kaartje naar toe.

In the last post I've talked about the birthday treats for our daughter. That was going to be the next project I would place here. Well, something came up. A cousin of mine gave birth to a healthy baby boy, named David, two weeks ago. Of course I had to make a card for her first.

Deze keer heb ik geen enkele stempel gebruikt en alleen maar gebruik gemaakt van stansen en ponsen (en natuurlijk een lintje).

This time I haven't used a stamp at all, just cutting dies and punches (and a ribbon of course).

Het volgende projectje dat ik zal plaatsen is het uitnodigingskaartje van mijn dochter, daarna een Halloween kaartje en vervolgens de traktaties van mijn dochter. Genoeg op het programma dus. Tot een volgende keer.

Herfstkaartje

Op clubs (tja, ik ben veel op clubs te vinden) deed ik mee aan een herfstketting. Dat houdt in dat je een herfstkaartje maakt voor en opstuurt naar iemand anders die zich ook heeft aangemeld voor deze ketting. In dit geval was het voor de Magnolia-club.

On Clubs (yes, I know, I'm a bit slaved to Clubs) I participated in a cardmaking chain with the theme autumn. This means that you have to make a card for and send it to a person who also participates in this chain. In this case it was a chain on Magnolia-club.

Op de een of andere manier wou het kaartje maar niet lukken, ik heb er dit keer erg lang over gedaan, maar al met al vind ik het resultaat wel erg leuk geworden (al zeg ik het zelf).

Somehow this card wouldn't come as easy as I wanted to, it took me a long time to finish it, but at the end it worked out quite nice I think.

Het patroontje voor dit kaartje heb ik al heel lang in de schappen liggen en komt eigenlijk ook van clubs af. Dit was in 2010 een SOL op de club van Tiets. SOL is een afkorting van Scrap OnLine.  

Op vooraf afgesproken datum ga je met zijn allen een zelfde kaartje/projectje maken. Wat dit kaartje/projectje is/wordt weet je van te voren niet. Het enige wat je te horen krijgt is wat voor materiaal nodig hebt en welke maten je papier moet zijn. De rest wordt op die datum online stap voor stap vermeld. Pas als de SOL is afgelopen zie je wat je hebt gemaakt. Het leuke is dat er daardoor heel veel mensen op hetzelfde moment hetzelfde aan het maken is, maar met hele andere materialen, waardoor je hele verschillende dezelfde kaarten krijgt.

Deze herfstkaart heb ik dus nu met dit patroon gemaakt.

I have the template of this card for a very long time. This template comes from Clubs (as well). It was a template for a SOL in 2010 on the club of Tiets. SOL is an abbreviation of Scrap OnLine.

You all make the same card or project on a prearranged date, but what this card or project looks like you don't know in advance. The online thing you hear is what materials you have to use and what the sizes of your paper has to be. Then, on that prearrange date you step by step hear what you have to do, so by the end of the SOL you'll see what the card or project looks like. So a lot of people work the same card or project at the same time, but with different materials, what results in very different, but al the same cards or projects.

This autumn-card was based on the template for that SOL, but I've made it just now.

Voor de mevrouw waar ik deze kaart naartoe heb gestuurd heb ik ook nog een klein pakketje gemaakt met materialen die ik heb gebruikt voor deze kaart. Op andere clubs (in vorige jaren) was dat ook een bedoeling bij een ketting; een kaartje maken en dat samen met het materiaal wat je hebt gebruikt opsturen, zodat de ontvanger met hetzelfde materiaal een ander kaartje maakt. In dit geval hoefde de ontvanger niets te maken, maar ik vond het gewoon erg leuk om zo'n pakketje erbij te doen.

On other clubs (in past years) that was the meaning of a card-chain; make a card and send it including the materials you've used, so the receiver could make a different card with the same materials. In this case the receiver didn't have to make something, but I wanted to send this package anyway.

Het volgende projectje dat je hoogstwaarschijnlijk zult zien zijn de traktaties van onze oudst dochter. Zij is in oktober jarig en daarvoor moeten natuurlijk leuke traktaties gemaakt worden. Wat dat wordt, dat moet ik nog even bekijken. Tot een volgende keer.

The next project you'll probably see are the treats I made for our oldest daughter. It's her birthday in octobre so I have to make some nice treats for that of course. What those treats will look like, I have to see..

Scrapdoosje bedankt

Voor een wedstrijd op clubs (Hobbyplezier met scrapdoosjes) heb ik dit doosje gemaakt. Daarbij komt ook nog dat ik nog een bedankje wil maken voor onze buurvrouw. Onze buurvrouw heeft namelijk tijdens onze vakantie op onze poezebeesten gepast. En haar kennende is dat echt niet alleen eten geven en weer wegwezen. Wat dat betreft hebben we gewoon een hele lieve buurvrouw. Dus daar is wel een bedankje op zijn plek. Wat ik in het doosje ga doen, dat moet ik nog even bedenken.

I've made this box for a card-making contest on clubs (Hobbyplezier met scrapdoosjes). But I've got a purpose for this box as well. Our neighbour cared for our two cats while we were on holidays to Luxemburg. And knowing her caring for doesn't mean just feeding and cleaning the cats. She gives them personal attention for some time and then give them food and water and clean their litter. So we are very glad to have her!!! What I'm going to fill this box with, I don't know yet.

Het doosje moest gemaakt worden aan de hand van een patroon en de hoekjes van dat doosje moesten met een pons bewerkt worden. Aangezien ik niet zoveel hoekponsen in mijn bezit heb, heb ik het maar op deze manier opgelost. Die bloemen van EK Succes komen toch altijd op mijn kaarten en projecten weer, dus waarom dat niet gebruiken als hoekpons, toch?

We had to make this box to a pattern given by this club. The corners of the box had to be punched. I have the problem, I don't own that many corner punches. So I had to think of something else. The flowerpunch I've used is a punch a use with all my cards and projects, EK Succes punch. I think I have a problem if a have to make a card without any, because I love this flower. So I've used it this time also as a corner punch.

Hoogstwaarschijnlijk zal het volgende projectje een herfstkaartje gaan worden, aangezien ik die in september moet gaan posten (lettelijk) i.v.m. een kerstketting op clubs. Maar dat zullen we dan wel weer zien.

I think my next project will be a card for autumn, because I have to make and post one (literally) because of a so called cardsending chain. But we'll see it later on...
